Identification of Radiotheranostic Targets
The identification of “novel” membrane receptors as radiotheranostic targets will evolve the field and contribute to the development of more personalized targeted radiotherapies. This initiative aims to develop a first-in-class line of radiotheranostic agents directed against tumor specific expressed membrane receptors. Thereby we intend to develop novel and superior diagnostic tools, combined with personalized radionuclide therapies.Target identification is combined with ligand development, labeling and in vivo evaluation, which bridges the gap where novel radiotheranostics are developed for tumor types currently not addressed. This approach is currently only applied on an individual base, leaving opportunities behind, therefore we are looking for collaboration with experts on tumor biology, pathology, ligand development and screening. Furthermore, collaborations with tumor biobanks, genome-sequencing facilities, radiochemistry facilities, and the use of patient derived in vitro and in vivo models for evaluation are crucial to make this initiative succeed.
